Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what we do with it. In plain English.

Last updated 25 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Freela Pty Ltd ("Freela", "we", "us") collects through freela.com.au, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you, do the work you ask for and send the newsletter you sign up for. We never sell your details.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email, and anything else you choose to give us, such as your business name, phone number, what you need, your message and the best time to call.
  • Newsletter: your email address.
  • AI visibility audit: your name, email, business details and website address. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Email and phone: whatever you send us when you contact us directly.
  • Website use: basic technical information such as your browser, device and pages visited, collected by our hosting provider to run and secure the site.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, call you back if you ask us to, and quote for work.
  • To deliver work you have paid for, such as the AI visibility audit.
  • To send our monthly newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep records we are required to keep, such as invoices.

Who we share it with

We use a few trusted services to run the business. They only receive what they need to do their job:

  • Wix hosts this website and stores form submissions and newsletter contacts.
  • Stripe processes audit payments.
  • Google provides our email and the fonts on this site, and Google Analytics tells us how people use it.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives visit information through the Meta Pixel, so we can measure and show our ads.
  • Xero handles our invoicing and accounts.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices. We don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

Our hosting provider may set cookies that the site needs to work and stay secure. We also use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which set cookies to count visits, see which pages are useful, and measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. They record things like the pages you view and actions such as sending an enquiry, not your name or what you type into our forms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on, and choose how Meta uses this information in your Facebook ad preferences.

Keeping it safe

Your information is stored with the providers above and protected by their security, including encrypted connections. We keep it only as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jarbas@freela.com.au and we'll reply within 30 days.

Questions or complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, email jarbas@freela.com.au or call 0403 749 655 and we'll work it out with you. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
